An Investigation of Levels of Creativity and Scholastic Achievement in School-Aged Students

This research measured the creative skills of 1000 Minnesota schoolchildren, compared it to performance on standardized achievement tests and examined the relationship between measured creativity and intelligence in our current school systems. Measured creativity has declined in school children since 1991 and this decline will have a greater impact on economic vitality than shortfalls in math or science. Methods, results, and analysis of the research are presented. Research was funded through a program to support regional competiveness.
